Goffriller violin

Description

In this restoration it was necessary to remove the varnish that wasn’t original and affected the appearance of the instrument.

Cases like this demand skill and experience as old retouching has to be removed without damaging the original varnish. The new retouching has to blend with the varnish resembling in colour, thickness, texture, shine, surface and patina without disturbing the overall appearance.

The new retouching makes the original intention of the maker for the looks of the instrument visible again.
