Cahusac violin
Description
After an accident this instrument had to be repaired in a limited amount of time as an important recording had been scheduled already.
On opening the instrument the condition became apperent with old damages and repairs, which had to be addressed as the instrument had been opened already.
Cleaning old cracks, removing heavy filler, that had been used to repair the area around the soundpost, gluing new cracks and securing them through cleats and a small soundpost patch were measures that were taken to stabilize the instrument and make it vibrate freely.
